Το ψάρι και το καλάμι
A Response to George Likomitros'
Kalami Calamities

“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”
Mark Twain
Το ψάρι και το καλάμι
There’s a Greek phrase my old departed friend Apostolos used to say “το ψάρι
και το καλάμι” or “the fish and the [baited] pole.” This is what social media
aficionados call “click bait.”
Currently an online scandalmonger surfaced with dubious content whose main
purpose is to attract traffic and encourage visitors to click on a link to his web
page “Kalami.” George Likomitros of Florida, a convicted felon and social media
psychopath has demonstrated this shameful behavior and uses malicious
implications against our leadership as click bait fodder for promoting his
delusional conspiracies. Scandals and lies so big and of such ominous proportion
they would make Goebbels blush.
Disparagements so disturbing and fallacious they need not be repeated, but
rebuked! When asking locals about George the most common answer I received
was “αυτος ο ατιμος είναι όνομα και πράγμα απλός λύκος με μήτρα.” “That
dishonest man is exactly what his name denotes ‘a crown wearing wolf.” Evidently,
he would implicate his own mother if it would garner the attention he craves. |
In his bizarre stories he slanders the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan
Emmanuel of France, Bishop Maximos of Melitene, Metropolitan Nathaniel, and |
Fr Alex Karloutsos to name a few. Manifestly the most desirable personalities for
disreputable tabloids and weak critics such as Likomitros to exploit.
Beyond defamation of sexual malfeasances, embezzlement, and other sorted
affairs the delusional George Likomitros credits himself for influencing the
elections of Archbishop of America, unraveling the St Nicholas Shrine
predicament, exposing financial corruption in the Chicago Metropolis, and so
much more. In his most recent diatribe, the disingenuous George Likomitros
poses a set of ultimatums masqueraded as questions to the new Archbishop of
America, His Eminence Elpidophoros, initiating his utterances by addressing him
as Cardinal "ο καρδινάλιος." Demanding answers to loaded questions well
beyond Mr. Likomitros’ ability to comprehend.
In the end, George Likomitros, his canards and writings are to be admonished and
condemned as worthless fictitious lies. And those conduits who distribute his
works should be ashamed and reprimanded in public forums denouncing them as
“fake news” outlets.
“Adorn yourself with truth, try to speak truth in all
things; and do not support a lie, no matter who asks
you. If you speak the truth and someone gets mad at
you, don’t be upset, but take comfort in the words of
the Lord: Blessed are those who are persecuted for the
sake of truth, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt.
5:10).”
