President Clinton's Message to His Eminence

Dear Archbishop Spyridon:

I am pleased to join with Greek Orthodox Christians and people of faith across America and around the world in extending heartfelt congratulations on your enthronement as Archbishop of America.

Your commitment to serving the spiritual needs of others has been invaluable in fostering an atmosphere of compassion and fellowship. By embracing this new challenge, you are helping to shape a part of our world for generations to come.

While the responsibilities of spiritual leadership are great, the knowledge of a mission fulfilled can be among life's most meaningful rewards. As you begin to address the tasks of leading the church in the Western Hemisphere, you have my prayers and good wishes for every success in this special a role to which God has called you.

Sincerely,

Bill Clinton
