NEW YORK ― At a recent ceremony at the Archdiocese, the Combined Philoptochos Charities of Brooklyn and Staten Island were able to present His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon with a check for $24,000 to benefit The Pediatric Coronary Unit of The Cornell Medical Center located at New York Hospital.
Throughout the years over 400 children from Greece have had various heart diseases treated at the coronary unit. These funds were raised at the 25th Anniversary Luncheon of The Combined Philoptochos Charities of Brooklyn and Staten Island held last year. Sts. Constantine and Helen Cathedral, Three Hierarchs, Kimisis Tis Theotokou, Holy Cross, and Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas are the five churches that comprise The Combined Philoptochos Charities of Brooklyn and Staten Island.
