Translations Committee

Archbishop Spyridon of America has announced the formation of the Archdiocesan Council Standing Committee on Liturgical Translations.

The members of this committee are: the Rev. Spencer Kezios, Northridge, Calif. chairman; Rev. Dr. John Chryssavgis, Brookline, Mass.; Rev. Anthony M. Coniaris, Minneapolis; Rev. Dr. Demetrios Constantelos, Linwood, N.J.; Rev. Dr. George Karahalios, Andover, Mass.; and Rev. Nicholas Samaras, Tarpon Springs, Fla.

In announcing the appointments for this committee, His Eminence expressed his concern that the Archdiocese provide the faithful of the church with consistent, theologically correct and liturgically precise translations. The Archbishop stated that there must be liturgical uniformity throughout all the churches of the Archdiocese.
