Director of Finance Resigns after 11 Years of Service to Archdiocese
NEW YORK - His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon has announced today that with regret he has accepted the resignation of Mr. Jerry Dimitriou, the Director of Finance, effective February 2, 1998.
Mr. Dimitriou tendered his resignation with the provision that he shall remain in his position as long as necessary in order to facilitate an orderly transition to a new Director.
Mr. Dimitriou came to the Archdiocese in 1987 as the Associate Director of Economic Development. In 1992, he was appointed the Director of Finance and Administration, and with the election of His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon, continued as the Director of Finance.
During his eleven years of service to the Archdiocese, Mr. Dimitriou contributed in a most significant way to the computerization of the Archdiocese, as well as many salutary economic and administrative improvements to the financial and economic operations of the Archdiocese. His tenure witnessed numerous enhancements to the auditing and accounting procedures of the Archdiocese.
A new Director of Finance will be appointed as soon as possible.
