Live broadcast of Religious Education classes
Brookline, MA - The Department of Internet Ministries in conjunction with the department of Religious Education is pleased to announce a live, Lenten lecture series on the Internet at: http://www.goarch.org/webcasts/religioused.html.
The series of 90-minute educational classes are intended to assist Orthodox Christians to more fully prepare themselves for the celebration of Lent and Easter. Participants will examine the Scriptural, Liturgical, and theological aspects of the Hymnology of Great Lent in a casual yet systematic fashion. The Lenten hymnology that will be studied is available online for listening in both English and Greek at: http://www.goarch.org/access/byzantinemusic/apolytikia/lent
The classes are scheduled to take place on each Tuesday evening (7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time) during the month of March (March 2 - March 30). They will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Frank Marangos, Director of the Department of Religious Education for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
Listeners may also submit questions to Fr. Frank via e-mail during the broadcast at: [email protected] Selected questions will be answered either at the end of tonight's class or at the beginning of next Tuesday's class.
For individuals who wish to attend in person, the catechetical classes will be held at the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Boston Headquarters at 162 Goddard Ave, in Brookline, MA. The classes, which have the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Spyridon as well as His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios, are offered free of charge to all who wish to attend.
