Now this "IS" good news.

These are the words I have waited so many years to read. My faith in the
Greek Orthodox Church in America is being restored, and my soul LEAPS
FOR JOY at the reading of it. This terrible injustice is being reversed
and those who suffered so long will receive their just vindication. We
have many more wrongs to right. Our truly worthy Archbishop will lead
and guide us in the accomplishment of those tasks.
Thank you, Your Eminence! May God grant you many, many years.
Glory to God Almighty, and on earth, peace to men of good will.

This is the best news possible about the future of the GOA. It is nice to see
the viciousness of the past being healed by the reinstatement of these fine
priests to their positions. It is equally nice to see the viciousness of the
past being healed by the reinstatement of Fr. Stephanopoulos to his position of
Dean of the Cathedral.
The reign of terror is over. It is a shame that someone of the caliber of
Archbishop Spyridon found it unable to admit to these serious errors of
judgments and do the right thing about them.
It is also nice to see that now that Archbishop Spyridon is gone, that the
Church is speedily moving towards reconciliation by these actions. Fear has
been replaced by a new feeling in the Church, a good feeling.

This is great news! But also Fr. Dn. Robert Scott, who wrote and spoke his
conscience during the Spyridon time, and got removed from his priestly
assistance capacity in his New Hampshire parish for his trouble by Spyridon,
ought to also be restored.

A strong wind has blown through the fog of the last three years and cleared the
air. This is indeed a step, a major step, in the right direction. In our
parish, we are all much more relaxed and hopeful of a brighter future
(epiphany) for our church.

Robert Scott is one of the outstanding Orthodox Christians in our country
today. It is precisely because he is both Orthodox and an American, with a
vision for the Orthodox Church fully in and of America, that Spyridon and the
haters went after him. Scott is an adornment to the Diocese of Boston. He
should indeed be restored to his assistant capacity,... and soon.
